A Provocative Remark About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning both dry and wet messes in one session, without having to switch devices. They can also reduce space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
auto vacuum cleaner must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacles avoidance. Look for models that can automatically empty their bins and fill up their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads using the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer at a modest price and is one of the easiest robots we've tested to set up. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start guide will have you up and running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor solution.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can mop and vacuum well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner comes with four power settings, as well as a selection of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.
For example, you can decide to let the robot take care of a thorough clean-up in the kitchen and living rooms but take it easy in the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It can detect small obstacles that other models are unable to. Its only drawback is that it tends to crash into walls and objects at a high speed, but just a glance at the cleaning history within the app will show you exactly what it's doing as well as where it's heading and the obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has a handy LCD screen that shows the time when maintenance is required, such as emptying debris and cleaning the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time as well, with the mop being capable of running for up to 184 minutes in quiet mode, while the vacuum is capable of running for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to refill. And you can see the complete cleaning details within the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood, though we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a mop only vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when examining a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.
2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. Unlike last year's model, this one features an agitator that doubles in its mopping pad, which significantly enhances its carpet cleaning capabilities. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.
This Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it avoid obstacles such as furniture, walls, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes two cameras that can recognize objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its direction automatically and clean around them, without missing a step.
This is the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also feature-packed. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which restarts the cleaning process, a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only drawback I could find in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth when required, but it's a challenge to remove the mount to wash it manually. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will come into contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause scratches.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of clever features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can configure and manage these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery life and maintain your components. You'll need to jump through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mowing capabilities. Its innovative design lets you to personalize and efficiently clean while saving time.

This powerful vacuum can clean up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry debris. It comes with a mop of excellent quality that can clean hard floors without using pads. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.
The X40 also comes with a side brush that is able to be lifted and extended. This allows it to reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean curved furniture such as table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to access furniture with a low profile which makes it a great option for apartments or condominiums with small spaces. The side brush automatically lowers itself when it spots wet spots. This is a nice feature that helps the X40 keep floors safe from damage caused by excessive back-and-forth movements.
Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform mopping and vacuuming at the same time or separately. It can also be programmed to eliminate areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled through the Dreame app or by using Alexa, Siri, and Google Home to ensure a smooth voice-controlled operation.
The app is simple to use and understand and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times. They can also adjust suction power, switch modes, view floor plans and maps and control mopping settings. The X40 will also keep track of its progress, and alert you when it's done.
The X40 is easy to maintain and has many convenient features that make it a great choice for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, then refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It will also tell you whether the mop pad is at its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models available. It does have many features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub that makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with a high maximum suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and dirty spots.
The mop mops are cleaned and dried in the base station every time they are used. This feature is great because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from building up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a great method of keeping your home clean for longer.
There are many options, including the option to schedule cleaning times and adjust preferences. These can be set via the app or there are buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and has a lot of options for customising the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of relying on an individual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen in the market, with metallic and white colors that looks elegant and classy. It's heavier than the other two-in-one robots in this list, at 4kg but it's not too heavy, and it is sturdy and well-built. Mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to reach up to 2mm below baseboards.
